For the serious and dedicated speedball players SANPA is in the process of finalizing the criteria for players to receive their SANPA provincial colors in paintball as well as how to be selected for the SANPA representative team.
During 2015, the SANPA representative team, will be sponsored to represent South African Paintball at the Paintball World Cup.
The national team will have a SANPA coach that will assist the team with preparation and planning. We will also be sending a selected co-ordinator and referee to assist the team and to experience international paintball and represent us as a community.
Current criteria for player selection:
- Must be a South African Citizen or have permanent residency or legally have stayed in South Africa for more than at least 5 years.
- Must be a dedicated player on a registered team competing in a SANPA approved national 5-man speedball league like the SARPL
- Must belong to a SANPA accredited paintball field
During the season the SANPA coach as well as selected scouts will look for potential players at SARPL events. These players will receive an official invitation to the national team try-outs at which stage the coach and selection panel will decide on the final list of players that will be part of the team for the upcoming season.
The selection team will look at various aspects, but with a key focus on specific skill sets required in the team, how the various players “gel” together on/off the field as well as overall commitment and dedication to the team as ambassadors for the sport.
Provincial colors can be achieved by individual players by meeting the required criteria that will be made available soon.
Be part of the growth of the sport and remember the bigger the sport grows the more we will be able to achieve together!
